What Happens Next?

We all are going to die. Someway, somehow. But the real question is will we look back and enjoy what we have done? Will we be proud of the things we have accomplished? Will we like what we see these things? What will people remember us by? I ask myself these questions on a daily basis. I know what you're thinking, why did I start out that way? Why did I say that in this type of setting? The truth is, I said it to get your attention. I do believe we will die and thought I do not like to think about it, it is a fact of life. Death as a whole is scary because of the ifs, what happens next?

We all have fears and secrets. Some stuff we will admit but others we hold onto, deep down inside of us. Why is that? Why do we choose to share some of these and not others. The answer is simple we do not want people to use it against us. We fear that if we share these facts and the other person will turn these on us and cause us harm. We do not want them to know our weaknesses. I will be the first to admit that I used to be afraid of spiders. Just the thought of them would creep me out. It started when I was 9 years old, my brother would throw granddaddy long legs on me. Terrible, I know. I can say I am not scared of them anymore but, my brother is... It's funny how things work. Isn't it? It comes around full circle. So, why am I talking about death one minute and spiders the next? Well, the truth of the matter is, I am scared to death of the idea that one day I will die. I do not want to die, nobody wants to. But one day we will have to face the biggest fear of all. We will have to look the fear that has been hidden deep down inside of us since the minute we realized that life is not a movie that we can restart or rewind in the face. We cannot simply fast forward past the end. This is now or never.

With all that being said, ultimately we have one life that is ours to live. We must do with it what we want. We were created for a reason, why not for change? You can change someone's day with just a smile or a wave. We can change the world. You might just think you are one person in this world full billions of people but that's all it takes. It takes just that one person to believe in something so powerful and to stand up for it. I don't know about you but I was brought up to that I could make a change; I can make a difference. It just takes courage.

Courage is found inside of each and every one of you. You just have to find it. If you cannot find it, create it. We need to make a name for ourselves. When the day comes when we have to look back on our lives, all our good decisions should outweigh the bad one. We all should be able say; I made a change whether it was in one person's life or hundreds. When we have to look our biggest fear in the eyes that we each leave behind a part of ourselves. Death is just the deadline that makes us question whether or not we can look back and said man that was a heck of a life.
